  • Year 2 Topic Trip of the Local Area

    Pupils enjoyed a very informative coach tour of Grimsby, Cleethorpes and surrounding areas.  They visited the Grimsby Docks and the Dock Tower, Blundell Park Football Stadium, Cleethorpes Dscovery Centre and Waltham Windmill with it's mini railway!

    This term in Nursery we have been learning, discussing and investigating the weather and its effects.  In literacy/topic we have been learning the story of Incy Wincy Spider.

     

  • Year 5 High Ropes

    1st July 2016

    Year 5 had a great time on their annual visit to High Ropes!  We got to try our hand at archery, and had a little tournament (Riley and Decklen were the winners!)  We also developed our map reading and observation skills in the orienteering session.  After a well-deserved lunch break, it was onto the ropes course.  We started off on the low ropes to build up our confidence and then progressed to the main course.  The main verdict was... “scary”!  However, everyone was very proud of themselves for giving it

  • A Taste of History

    Else Johnson from A Taste of History came to visit us to help us learn more about life in Ancient Greece.  As usual, she brought along a very interesting (and delicious) range of recipes for us to sample!  Most of the foods that we tried were similar to foods which might have been eaten by the Ancient Greeks, such as olives, honey and bread.  Lots of us were able to help Else prepare her delectable dishes and after that we enjoyed tasting them!  We tried lots of different foods and gave our opinions!   • Reading Mania

    Reading is a life time skill that allows us to explore other places, experience adventures and understand characters motives.  It allows us to stay informed of world affairs and gain knowledge and inforamtion about the world around us.

    To help promote this love of reading we offer weekly incentives.  Our aim is to complete at least 4 reads a week.  These weekly rewards differ in each class some examples are: extra play, hot chocolate, extra IPad time, Lego building.

    On the 25th September we sold cakes for Macmillan Cake Day.  We raised a whopping £328.  Thank you for your contributions.  A special thank you to Maisie for raising £87.50.

    Children are entitled to Free School Meals if their family gets one of the following benefits:

    • Income Support
    • Income based Job Seekers Allowance
    • Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
    • Guaranteed Pension Credit
    • Child Tax Credit with an annual income each year of less than £16,190 (as assessed by Tax Credits)
    • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

    If you receive Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit, your child will not qualify for free school meals.
